Families with children who have A.S. have very little support in the school system. Because they are different the children are nearly always bullied. They have not the patient for what they see as useless small talk or games, so antaganise other children. But this also causes problems in the classroom. A.S. children hear speach literally so when the teacher tells 'the class' to go to page six in their reading book, the A.S. child hears this as the teacher wants the class to read that page, what does she want me to do. I am not the class, I am me. If the teacher does not understand this he/she believes the child is being delibertly disruptive. More education is needed in all schools so these children are not labelled. This Web Site is part of a course I am doing and will only be up for two weeks.
