THE WHEEL
Since its formation in 1999, The Wheel has grown into a unique and vibrant network. Its vision is to help the entire Community and Voluntary Sector to be less fragmented and more self-aware of its potential to be a powerful voice for change in Irish Society. The Education and Training project is the result of requests from participants at previous Wheel meetings to have the issue addressed. The outcome was the formation of a working group comprised of individuals from the fields of education and training. They identified the key issues as accreditation and the need for a Code of Practice for the delivery of education and training. In keeping with The Wheel ethos, it was proposed that these issues be discussed at a more focused roundtable with a view to feeding the results back to relevant bodies such as The National Qualifications Authority (www.nqai.ie ) and the White Paper Implementation Advisory Group.
