THOMSON FOUNDATION TO TRAIN PRINT JOURNALISTS IN CHINA
The Thomson Foundation (TF), an independent media training provider based in Cardiff, is set to begin a new project in China, training newspaper staff in the southern province of Guangdong.
A Thomson team of four consultants will spend three weeks in the cities of Guangzhou and Shenzhen working with the editorial staff of the Yangcheng.
Evening News and the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily, which together sell more than two million copies daily. The newspapers are owned by separate companies and the training workshops will take place consecutively. Training sessions will cover general news, business reporting, and the effective use of pictures. The project is the initiative of the British Council in Guangzhou.
