AFRICAN JOURNALISTS URGED TO APPLY FOR CARIBBEAN MEDIA FELLOWSHIPS

African journalists have been urged to apply for fully sponsored fellowships to the second Caribbean Media Exchange on Sustainable Tourism (CMEx) conference in Nassau, Bahamas, between May 16 and 20.

CMEx will attempt to highlight the role the developing world media can play in setting sustainable standards for the development of tourism business and linked economic activity. CMEx will also attempt to enhance information flows to strengthen awareness of the importance of sustainable tourism within national economies.

The CMEx conference will attempt to begin a media examination of the business aspects of sustainable tourism with topics ranging from measuring tourism growth, the economic impact of HIV/AIDS on the sector, tapping the African American market, cruise tourism, community tourism, regional marketing and the business of eco-tourism.
