NEW WEBSITE FOR MEN WHO SUFFER DEPRESSION

A few of us are currently publishing a new website for men who suffer from depression, anxiety or suicidal thoughts. We're sending you this email to let you and your members be aware of our website and to invite your members to use it and partipate in it.

Hundreds of Irish people, particularly young men, choose to take their own lives every year. Theblackdog.net is a new web site that sets out to be an independent, useful and concrete response to this crisis It is based on the experiences of men who suffer or have suffered from emotional or mental collapse.

The blackdog.net sets out to display alternative problem solving techniques to suicide be a lobbying forum for positive changes in mental healthcare, education and housing in Ireland today show links to sites that explore mental or emotional health issues with imagination and compassion be a resource for helpful articles and books develop an on-line supportive neighbourhood

The blackdog.net is an organic web site. It is designed to grow and readers are encouraged to participate. Currently, theblackdog.net has a forum for men to discuss whatever they feel the need to express; a library of supportive texts and analysis, a portal page displaying links to groups we believe can be helpful to men who suffer from depression, a cave for men to take a step back in, a random advice generator, a tool for expressing anger, a men's health page, practical advice for people who want to help a relative, friend or lover who is suicidal or depressed and a page displaying well-known people who have or do suffer from mental turbulence.

The blackdog.net runs on a voluntary and free basis. It does not accept advertising.
